Shy away from Nike because they are too expensive for what you get and I feel that I'm paying for their advertising. They also control the market by only allowing a set number of athletic shoes released in the most popular sizes (mens 13). Caused me a lot of grief when my son was a high schooler participating in sports. I could never find shoes for him as stores only received a certain amount of shoes in his size that were inevitabley sold out by the time I could find them - after searching the STATE, the same State where Nike is head quartered. Don't like their ability to "buy" athletics & college sports teams (U of O) |

I play soccer and Adidas is a more authentic brand in that sport. Nike is good but my perception is that they buy their way into a sport with endorsers (Christiano Ronaldo, Tiger Woods) rather than earning it with product developed over time. |
